A FEW FUN FACTS BEFORE THE WEEKEND….

In honor of October 2014, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I did my part.
Not only for me, but for my daughters, and for my family, my husband and son included, to find a new outlook for us. There’s a new true beauty that God is teaching us. I was asked to witness and share in this interview link below.
This interview, was filmed for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. If it can help just one other woman battling this, or anyone at all, even without such a diagnosis. Any woman, mother, daughter, child, or family member could grow from this, I feel. If it touches just one, then… I’ll know why they asked me. PLEASE pass this along.
GOD IS BIGGER THAN ALL OF THIS. THERE IS BEAUTY IN ALL OF THIS.
WE JUST HAVE TO SEE IT AND BELIEVE.

Which Random Things Would Ya Guess Recently Bald Women Might Still Do:
a) keep rubber bands on her wrist for “ghost”ponytails
b) stick pens in previously mentioned “ghost” ponytails, only to hit the floor behind her
c) put large dallops of shampoo in hand in shower, for her….eyebrows??
d) Thoroughly enjoy when her 3 yr old wears a”twin” beanie on her head to match her mommy while saying things like:
“I like your face” OR singing “I’m your twin, you’re my twin, we stick together through thick and thin…” (from Sofia the First )
or, yup, you guessed it…
e) ALL OF THE ABOVE!! HA!
SEE, IT AIN’T ALL SO BAD! Sometimes, ya just gotta laugh. What else am I gonna do?

What’s a BUNA?
…I found many images of random things with my nickname all over the internet. Some very interesting, some very scary, my apologies, I’m not responsible! Honest. As far as I knew, growing up, “BUNA” was, well, “ME”. I wish I had a better answer for you as to how I got the name. It honestly was given to my me by my oldest brother, Beau (Fr.Beau), at random when I was maybe 4 yrs old (tops). We just thought it was a funny sound! Made a song using it, etc., and for whatever reason it stuck.
Good news… it actually has meaning! Think about the lovely romance languages…”BIEN, BON, BUENO…”
Turns out, that (DRUMROLL PLEASE)
* “BUNA” IS ROMANIAN FOR “GOOD” *
So there you have it. You are all apart of Team “Good”. How’s that for motivation. We’re on the right track, I guess? In all my rebelliousness as a kid, I always had a good heart. Right, Mom and Dad? 😉

Thank God for my 5 little Goofballs this week
This round of Chemo has been a doozy, but it’s goofballs like this that are keeping me laughing and smiling. They’ve been so patient with me when I was asleep on the couch so often this week. They gave me the highlights and the jokes of the day when they came home, and came back to kiss my sleepy bald head on the way up to bed. They’re troopers and I’ve never been more proud. I love them and love the way they keep on shining! So so proud.
Even at the lowest, there’s always, always, ALWAYS something to be thankful for.
KEEP THAT IN MIND AND HAVE A FAB WEEKEND!
THE NAUSEA, THE ACHES AND PAINS, THE GENERAL YUCKS, ARE ALL JUST LITTLE THINGS.
AND WHATEVER YOUR LITTLE THINGS ARE…
Beautiful as always. And I’m really GLAD TO KNOW what BUNA means!!! I never knew it was your nickname, but leave it to Beau to give you a “good” one, especially in Romanian! Every little ting is gonna be alright!
